I’ll never forget the eccentric millionaire I worked for right after graduating college. I remember one day he sent me all over Southern California looking for an absolutely wild list of items. He wanted a specific kind of softball bat, gold wigs, Raquel Welch movie stills, and 10 South African gold coins. He gave me about $9,000 in cash with which to accomplish this task, and to my surprise it only took me about four hours. When I brought everything back he told me to set it up in his study, and then I went downstairs and cooked him some soup.
The next day he realized that he’d made a mistake, so he sent me back out to purchase 10 Raquel Welch wigs. He said that he needed them for a fashion show, which struck me as kind of odd because he didn’t make any of his money working in this industry. I don’t know if this was for some sort of photo shoot, but I picked it up all of the same. This again only took me a couple of hours, mostly because I was driving around on a motorcycle and I had a pocket full of cash. This makes getting done just about anything really easy, so when he told me that I needed to go out and pick up one last Jon Renau wig, I knew that I would be able to get it done in no time at all.
